Everyone in information technology has to love Scott Adams. His simple example above from today’s Dilbert readily sums up our daily challenge: the client who thinks “this should be easy” or asks for an estimate before anyone knows what he needs.
Our mantra is: We cannot quote what we do not know. Still, they ask.
I think next time somebody says Tell me what it will cost, before they have worked with us to carefully define just exactly what “it” is, maybe I’ll just send them the cartoon.
Props to Mr. Adams, and all his associated copyrights and syndicates. Meanwhile, have a laugh, and visit him officially here.
