Those were the words of Hubble Space Telescope senior scientist David Leckrone, noting how the newly refurbished space telescope’s images don’t just show science, but “can evoke a sense of spirituality,” in an article by Seth Borenstein hosted by Google News here.
The image at left was released today by NASA, and shows a distant space object in the shape of some gorgeous gossamer butterfly.
The refurbished Hubble is truly one of those off-the-charts, I can’t believe they did this sort of accomplishments. It’s the kind of thing you hope makes your kids want to grow up to be scientists. So for now, enjoy the photo, browse the article, forgive my recent lack of blogs (I was out), and be awed by the universe in which we live. Suddenly, the daily grind is not quite so bad.
