ERP development and integration for manufacturers
Keep the ERP that works. Fix the parts that don’t.
PSSI integrates, automates and extends the system you already run, including Business Central, Dynamics NAV and ALERE, so your people can work faster with fewer manual steps.

Gaps, not systems
Your ERP may not be the problem. The gaps around it usually are.
Manufacturers are often told the answer is a new system. Sometimes it is. But in many companies the core of the ERP is sound, and the real cost sits in the gaps around it: orders re-keyed from the web store, a costing spreadsheet only one person understands, a month-end report that takes two days to assemble, a shipping process that runs on printouts.
Closing those gaps is usually faster and less disruptive than replacing everything, and it’s a much smaller investment. That is what ERP development does.
Signs your ERP needs development, not replacement
✓ The same order, part or invoice is typed into more than one system.
✓ Someone rebuilds the same Excel report every week or every month.
✓ A critical workaround lives in one person’s head or one person’s spreadsheet.
✓ Your ERP can’t handle a pricing rule, approval, label or document your customers require.
✓ Your web store, shipping, EDI or payroll system doesn’t talk to your ERP.
✓ The developer or partner who built your customizations is no longer around.

What we build, connect and support
Every project starts with a specific business problem, not a technology. These are the five kinds of work we do most often for manufacturers.
Custom development: add what your ERP is missing.
When the system can’t do something your business needs, we build it: quoting and estimating tools, costing logic, pricing and commission rules, approval workflows, and custom documents and labels. In Business Central we build extensions, following Microsoft’s development model, so your customizations are designed to carry forward through updates instead of blocking them.
Integration: connect the systems around your ERP.
We connect your ERP to e-commerce, shipping, EDI, payment processing, payroll and document management, so information is entered once and moves where it needs to go. Where a proven add-on already solves the problem, we’ll recommend it rather than build from scratch. Where nothing fits, we build the connection.
Automation: take manual steps out of the day.
We automate the repetitive work that eats your team’s time: scheduled jobs, alerts and approvals, and barcode and mobile data capture on the warehouse and shop floor. One Indiana manufacturer facing a labor shortage used this approach to automate inventory capture and shipping, reducing the labor needed to support just-in-time delivery.
Reporting and analytics: decide on data, not gut feel.
We build Power BI dashboards and Jet Reports on live ERP data, so margin, job cost, on-time delivery, backlog and inventory are visible without anyone rebuilding a spreadsheet. The goal is simple: leaders who trust the numbers enough to act on them.
Support and legacy care: keep critical systems stable.
When the original publisher or partner has moved on, we keep your system running with support, fixes and ongoing development. PSSI supports ALERE and legacy platforms including SBT, Sage Pro and ACCPAC, and we document what we find so your business never depends on a single person again.
Our approach
Understand. Simplify. Automate.
It’s more than PSSI’s tagline. It’s the order we work in, and the order matters: automating a broken process only produces the wrong result faster.
01
Understand.
We start where the work happens, on the shop floor and in the office, to see how orders, jobs and information actually move today and where time is being lost.
02
Simplify.
Before we write any code, we take out the steps that shouldn’t be there. Then we agree on a written scope, an estimate and a definition of done, so you know exactly what you are getting.
03
Automate.
We build and test in a separate test environment using your data, then train the people who will use it. Nothing changes in your live system until you’ve signed off.
04
Support.
Every change is documented and supported by the people who built it. As your business changes, we keep improving the system with you.
“Every change we make is documented, so the knowledge belongs to your company, not to one developer. Including ours.”
Two paths
Improve or replace? You’ll get a straight answer.
Because PSSI does both, developing on existing ERPs and implementing Business Central, we have no reason to push you either way. Here is how we usually think it through.
Many companies do both: fix the most urgent gap now, then plan a move on a timeline that suits the business. A Manufacturing ERP Health Check tells you which path makes sense for yours.
Improve your current ERP when…
- It’s still supported and stable.
- It handles most of your core processes well.
- The pain is concentrated in specific gaps such as quoting, reporting or integration.
- You need results this quarter without a system change.
Plan a move to Business Central when…
- Your system is reaching the end of vendor support.
- Customizations are blocking upgrades, or nobody can maintain them.
- You’re building workarounds on top of workarounds.
- The business is growing past what the platform can do.
Ways to work with us
Three ways to get started
Manufacturing ERP Health Check
The question it answers: Can our current system support the next two to three years?
Includes: A process and system review, a risk map, a list of quick wins, and a clear recommendation to optimize, integrate or migrate.
Investment: Fixed scope and price agreed before work begins.
90-Day ERP Improvement Sprint
The question it answers: Can we fix a high-impact problem without replacing everything?
Includes: One defined workflow, such as quoting, costing, reporting, inventory or order automation, scoped, built, tested and in use within 90 days.
ERP Extension & Integration Retainer
The question it answers: Who can maintain and improve the system we depend on?
Includes: Monthly capacity for development, reporting, integrations, automation and support from a team that already knows your system, at a predictable monthly cost.

FAQ
ERP development questions we hear from manufacturers
Can you work on a system another partner built or customized?
Yes. We start by reviewing and documenting what’s there, including customizations nobody fully understands anymore, and stabilize the system before recommending changes.
Will our customizations break when Business Central updates?
We build Business Central customizations as extensions, which are designed to carry forward through Microsoft’s regular updates rather than being overwritten by them.
Which ERP systems do you work on?
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Dynamics NAV and ALERE, along with support for legacy systems including SBT, Sage Pro and ACCPAC. If your system isn’t listed, ask us.
How is development priced?
Defined projects, such as an Improvement Sprint, are scoped and priced before work begins. Ongoing work is available through a monthly retainer or a prepaid block of hours. Either way, you see the estimate first.
Should we fix our current ERP or move to Business Central?
It depends on your system’s support status, how well it fits your processes and where the pain is. A Manufacturing ERP Health Check gives you a written recommendation either way. Compare the two paths
We don’t have an IT department. Can we still do this?
Yes. Many of our clients don’t. We work directly with owners and operations and finance leaders, and coordinate with your outside IT provider when needed.
What’s the one process you’d fix first?
Tell us what’s slowing your team down. We’ll come back with an honest view of whether it’s a quick fix, a sprint or a sign of something bigger, and what it would take to solve it.
